    Who are we looking for
    Currently, we are seeking an individual to join our practice on either a regular part-time or full-time basis.

    This position is especially attractive for candidates who are looking to enhance their professional knowledge and interests while serving a clientele that allows us to provide the best possible care for their pets.


    Candidates should possess strong (basic) medical, surgical and communication skills. Strong interest in surgery and surgical experience is a plus. We encourage long-term opportunities for the right candidate.

    Schedule:
    This position is between 36-40 hours per week. We require availability for at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). Our schedules are typically four 10-hour shifts, comprising of two or three days (approximately 8a-6p) and one or two evenings (approximately 12p-9p)


    Responsibilities:
    Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
    Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
    Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
    Perform diagnostic imaging
    Perform anesthesia
    Prep patients for and assist in surgery
    Perform dental prophies
    Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
    Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
    Communicate with and educate clients
    Provide compassionate patient care

    Requirements:

    State Veterinary Board License must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.

    DVM, VMD or equivalent Doctoral Veterinary degree
    Flexible work schedule, with availability to work some weekends and holidays
