    Position Description

    The IT Computer Technician must satisfy the following minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree required and 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing IT computer hardware. Experience with VMWare, Office 365 administration, Microsoft Active Directory preferred.

    Summary

    The IT Computer Technician maintains and implements network computer systems across the enterprise. The roles of this position include installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, corporate servers, associated software, and communication links. This position diagnoses, resolves, and documents hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Provides end user training and support where required in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of our client.

    Skills and Attributes

    The IT Computer Technician must possess the following skills and attributes: planning; recordkeeping; reporting; training; answering the phone; filing; typing; programming; calculating; problem solving; reasoning; performing preventive maintenance; reading - basic and technical; writing - basic and technical; word processing; manipulating spreadsheets; working with computer operating systems and networking hardware.

    Essential Functions

    The IT Computer Technician performs the following essential functions:

    1. Configures and troubleshoots servers, including e-mail, print, file and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.

    2. Implements any improvements, modification, or replacement of user's computer components.

    3. Creating users accounts and performing access control.

    4. Identifies and remedies computer performance bottlenecks.

    5. Creates/updates/maintains documentation of IT systems and applications.

    6. Ensures network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.

    7. Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems. Performs necessary security checks on the network.

    8. Serves as a "backup" for other team members, seek cross-training in their areas of expertise, and perform their duties in their absence.

    9. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Work Hours

    A minimum of forty hours per week, plus other after hours as may be necessary to complete job duties. A combination of day, evening, and weekend hours is required. Must be able to periodically take weekend call duties.

    Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities

    The IT Computer Technician reports to the IT Manager. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Physical Requirements

    The IT Computer Technician must be able to speak, hear, see, read, write, type, dial, reach, and bend. This position also requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
