    Waxahachie - Production Lead

    Position Summary:
    Directly lead and coordinate activities of plant operations including the warehouse department, which includes cycle count accuracy, shipping and loading efficiencies, reporting, data analysis and effective working relationships to improve CI and 5S program.

    Primary Functions:
     Enforce safety, communication and sanitation regulations for warehouse department.
     Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the shipping of goods, such as accuracy audits, organization and utilization of best practices
     Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments, including daily pre-shift and safety meetings.
     Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and schedule sequences to meet operational goals.
     Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
     Observe work and monitor performance to ensure associates conform to operational or processing standards, including all warehouse efficiencies.
     Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign employee training to experienced workers.
     Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
     Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
     Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
     Compile daily reports and monitor operational data.
     Observes plant safety rules. Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern. Assists in monitoring of quality of work output and maintenance procedures and 5S program.
     Supports Continuous Improvement environment.
     Assists in conducting operations so as to meet established cost standards for use of materials, supplies and equipment. Follows instructions in the most efficient use of tools, machines and materials.
     Maintains a neat and orderly working area and assists other departments in the cleanliness and organization of working areas when projects overlap other department areas.
     Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to their direct Supervisor. To maintain good working relations with all other employees. Strives to have no conflicts with other department employees.
     Encouraged to bring any ideas to light for possible usage in factory functions.
     Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, or others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
     Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
     Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
     Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

    Education and Experience
    Education
     High School or GED equivalent. Experience/Knowledge
     1 yr+ Lead experience
     3 yr+ experience in manufacturing environment
     Forklift experience. Technical Roles and Competencies:
     Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
     Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
     Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
     Education and Training — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
     Psychology — Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
     Requires up to 9 hours of standing/walking daily.
     Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
     Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
     Must be able to bend/stoop/twist, crouch/squat, reach above and below shoulders.
     Requires repetitive use of arm, wrist, and hand.
     Must be able to work near/with machinery and hand tools.
     Moderate/heavy exposure to heat and excessive noise.
     Ability to wear required PPE including hearing protection, safety glasses and steel/composite toe shoes.
     Annual hearing tests are required.
     Some overtime and occasional weekends required.
