    Summary



    New York Harbor, Manhattan Campus is seeking a qualified Intermittent Physician to join the Anesthesia Department for in house weekend, holiday, evening and night coverage.

    Duties


    The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System provides care to eligible Veterans via 3 medical centers and 2 community-based outpatient clinics.

    The Margaret Cochran VA Campus is a high complexity facility located in Manhattan with a major educational affiliation with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

    The Brooklyn Campus provides acute inpatient medical and surgical services with a major affiliation with SUNY-Health Science Center - Brooklyn.

    The St. Alban's campus houses a community living center as well as outpatient services.

    Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases


    Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory


    Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided


    Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:


    The intermittent anesthesiologist services will include preoperative anesthesia assessment both for next day elective cases, emergency cases, as well as emergency intubations on the wards and ICUs.

    They are also required to assist the full time anesthesiologist during WHEN hours with the cases still going in the operating room, as well as with emergency cases.

    The intermittent anesthesiologist position is not for regular day time anesthesiology coverage, it is for in house weekend, holiday, evening and night coverage.
