    This job is Safety-Sensitive.

    Safety-Sensitive jobs include tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.

    These tasks and duties include, but are not limited to operating:

    material handling equipment, motorized vehicles, welding equipment, fabrication machinery, power tools, working at height over four feet and working in confined spaces (or as prescribed by OSHA).

    Our core competency is based on safely processing alloyed:
    structures, weldments, piping systems, pressure vessels and sheet metal components of varying shapes and sizes.

    Fit-up of fabricated pieces of low-to-medium level of difficulty using blueprints. Perform welding in conformance to American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Steel code and to GSM Industrial, Inc. quality standards.

    This is a 2nd Shift position and the hours are:
    Mon - Thurs 3pm - 3am,

    additional Friday and Saturday work optional as available.

    There is also a $2.00 shift differential for 2nd shift.


    Essential Job Functions:
    Accurately read and interpret blueprints or shop drawings
    Identifying parts using cut list and shop drawings
    Fit-up and assembly of parts
    Measuring, squaring, string lining and leveling work to assure accuracy
    Safely set-up and operation of welding machine and equipment
    Welding, grinding and cutting
    Verify quality assurance and perform basic inspection
    Material handling using overhead crane, rigging equipment and forklift
    General labor, assembly and basic quality assurance

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:
    A minimum of (1) year experience in industrial metal fabrication including GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and SMAW
    A minimum of (1) year experience in blueprint reading and fit-up


    Machines/Tools/Equipment:
    Personal protection equipment
    Welding equipment
    Grinding and cutting equipment
    Basic hand tools
    Basic power tools
    Overhead cranes and rigging equipment
    Forklift


    Working Conditions:
    Primarily a controlled shop environment
    Occasional outside work in all types of weather conditions
    In a normal workday, the employee must be able to stand 7+ hours
    In a normal workday, the employee must be able to sit 1-4 hours
    In a normal workday, the employee must be able to walk 7+ hours
    In a normal workday, the employee must be able to drive 0-1 hours
    In a normal workday, the employee must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs. – MediumWork
    The employee must be able to use his/her upper extremities for repetitive simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation.

    The employee must be able to:
