    Description

    Summary

    The Tax and Asset Accountant is responsible for filing Sales and Use Tax returns, processing fixed asset transactions, reconciling fixed assets and other GL accounts and preparing monthly/quarterly reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Review sales tax exemption certificates to ensure only valid certificates are accepted
    • Upload exemption certificates in OneSource and work with invoicers to ensure certificates work correctly
    • Review accrued use tax and prepare use tax correction upload files
    • Responsible for filing Sales and Use tax returns and remitting payments.
    • Prepare Sales and Use tax payment posting files
    • Assist with tax audit
    • Maintain fixed asset ledger including capitalization, retirement & transfer and running monthly depreciation processes
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations for fixed assets and other assigned general ledger accounts
    • Prepare monthly/quarterly fixed asset reports
    • Assist with other projects as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
    • SAP experience is a must and OneSource experience is preferred
    • 3+ years of recent work experience in a related field
    • Experience in IFRS 16 and rental assets is a plus
    • Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
    • Self-motivated with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
