    Laboratory Operations Supervisor - Valdez AK

    Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Laboratory Operations Supervisor. This role involves overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in all processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with management, lead a team of 6 laboratory technicians, and maintain communication with clients to meet their needs effectively.

    $90k+ yearly; DOE

    Shift:

    Flexible full-time schedule with additional OT as needed

    Direct-hire permanent position

    Valdez, AK

    Responsibilities:

    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, communicating required corrective actions to management.
    • Maintain communication with clients and management regarding sample status.
    • Oversee shipping, receiving, sample retention, and disposal activities.
    • Provide objective input for crew members' development and assist in their training.
    • Ensure the availability of adequate equipment and staff for all tasks.
    • Collaborate with the lab manager to manage employee performance and maintain an effective work group.
    • Seek new business opportunities and represent positively to clients.
    • Perform other duties as required in alignment with company policies and standards.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
    • Competency in routine operation of a petroleum testing laboratory.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing staff to achieve quality, safety, and financial goals.
    • Knowledge and experience with ICP/ICPMS and GC/GCMS.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage long hours, and interact effectively with diverse personalities.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
    • Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
    • Customer-focused and quality-driven mindset.
