    Performs as a lead on more complex engineering assignments. Performs a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems. Performs generally as a lead of operations on more complex engineering assignments.

  • Independently performs a range of analysis and reviews tasks under generally established project deadlines.
  • Completes design specifications, analyses, or design reviews for complex projects.
  • Coordinates and works closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
  • Verifies and complies with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies.
  • Supports development of technical proposals and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  • Develops, maintains, and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Directs interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities; acts as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Conducts site visits and experimental investigations and analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations.
  • Performs other position-related duties and assignments as directed.
  • RANGE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists the software development team in developing and integrating an advanced synthetic test and training environment to support military test, tactics development, and training. Apply tactical knowledge to support scenario development for customer training objectives, and test events.
  • Acts as 5th generation fighter pilot subject matter expert (F-22A experience preferred).
  • Developing and implementation of threat configurations, SUT configurations and weapons configurations.
  • Supports development of customer test plans and test cards in support of run-for-score test events.
  • Provides simulated adversary pilot support for the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) as required.
  • Instruct, mentor and demonstrate to fellow flyers and engineers the threat system, operations, sensor systems, communication and navigation systems, and PVI.
  • Modelling and simulation support for the development, upgrade, operations and integration of constructive, non-real-time and virtual piloted simulators to the flying quality, air-frame, propulsion, avionics, sensors, weapon and electronic warfare mission areas.
  • Support development of operational training programs and department policy.
  • Configures the battlespace, recommends post-test reconfigurations, and prepares the virtual environment with customer defined threat laydowns.
  • Conduct general subject matter research, analysis, correlation, and assessment.
  • Acts as technical liaison to outside organizations in the fifth-gen operational community.
  • Provides inputs for the Digital Test & Training Range (DTTR) expansion or capability improvements to better support fifth-generation tactics development and test.
  • Supports daily communications with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) customers, subject matter experts, JSE development team representatives, and supporting sub-contractors.
  • Requirements - Education, Technical & Work Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other STEM discipline from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science in Engineering with at least 10 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited doctoral degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of related engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of theory of flight, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures, weapons systems, and mission tactics.
  • Current/Former United States Military Fighter Pilot
  • Must possess a well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the Company.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes.
  • Must use superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals.
  • Must possess planning/organizing skills and have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools.
  • Must possess a valid, state issued driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Desired Experience or Formal Training
  • 2+ years of 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft Experience (F-22A or F-35).
  • Graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School (USAFWS) or United States Navy Top Gun.
  • Graduate of the United States Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) or United States Navy Test Pilot School (USNTPS).
  • Development Test (DT) or Operational Test (OT) Experience. Experience in managing or conducting United States Military flight test operations.
  • SALARY
    The expected salary range for this position is $140-$170K annually and SIGN-ON BONUS.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
