Job Description

Manager, Data Engineering At Capital One, we are a diverse and inclusive group of problem solvers who use technology to make a positive impact.

We are looking for passionate Data Engineers who love working with data and emerging technologies. As a Data Engineer at Capital One, you'll be at the forefront of driving transformative change within the company.


What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using fullstack development tools and technologies.
• Work with a team of developers experienced in machine learning, microservices, and full stack systems.
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, as well as Open Source databases and Cloud data warehousing services.
• Stay uptodate with tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloudbased solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.
• Conduct unit tests and code reviews to ensure highquality, efficient code.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 6 years of application development experience
• At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing
• At least 2 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of application development experience including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
• 4+ years of experience with public cloud platforms
• 4+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools
• 4+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications
• 4+ years of experience with NoSQL databases
• 4+ years of data warehousing experience
• 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux and shell scripting
