    Description
    Nature & ScopeReporting to the Engineering Manager, the Plant Specification Engineer is a Key role for succession planning and Design engineering support in Marshall – Support SAP, TOI, EOG, BOMs, Routers, Construction Changes, Reel Calculations, Cable Builder, no process redundancy/backup-desperately needed.
    Job Duties:
    • Review customer's specification for quality & technical information
    • Review clarifications and/or exceptions for completeness and accuracy
    • Configure cable products and finalize packaging requirements
    • Prepare and/or obtain cost estimates for cable products
    • Transfer engineering information to appropriate Quotation, Order Processing and Manufacturing computer systems
    • Responsible for maintaining an accurate routing and bill of material system
    • Managing internal and external engineering change notices (ECN's) in a timely fashion
    • Act as local/plant Information Technology contact
    Key Job Requirements:
    • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of:
      • Wire & Cable components - function and application
      • Industry Standards and Customer Specifications Manufacturing Capabilities
    Quality requirements
    • Demonstrate adequate working knowledge of personal computers and running the various engineering support computer programs
    • Demonstrate highest degree of accuracy and attentiveness to technical detail
    • Show an awareness of profit in executing the position responsibilities
    • Practice effective and courteous verbal and written communication with company associates at the plant and other locations
    • Demonstrate ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
    Desired Background:Education -
    • BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science or Associates degree (Technologist) with equivalent work experience
    Experience -
    • Three to five years of electrical industry related employment preferred
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and databases
    • Basic working knowledge of ERP or ISO quality systems
