Location: Phoenix, Arizona (On-Site, near I-17 & Peoria)
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful bidding and execution of projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC systems.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to create detailed and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and vendors to ensure accurate pricing and feasibility of HVAC designs.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to assess project scope and gather relevant data.
- Prepare and present proposals to clients, ensuring clarity and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions to optimize project efficiency.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing, materials, labor rates, and subcontractor costs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new HVAC technologies, and changes in regulations that may impact project costs.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and scope of work with clients and subcontractors.
- Work closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure seamless project transition from estimation to execution.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HVAC estimator, preferably in the commercial sector.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience with estimating software and tools (such as BidTracer, and QuickPen, FastDuct, or similar platforms).
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Knowledge of local building codes, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant software.
- HVAC-related certifications or a degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
