Best Consulting is proud to lead the search for a strategic and visionary Division Vice President, Cancer Service Line (Illinois Division) for our client, Advocate Health— a highly regarded, multi-state, $34B annual revenue and third largest not- for-profit health system headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. This executive will drive operational excellence, service line growth, and transformational growth in cancer care.

The Division Vice President, Cancer Service Line is a key senior leader responsible for overseeing operations, strategic initiatives, and financial sustainability of the Cancer clinical service line within Advocate Health's Illinois Division. This visionary senior leader will closely partner with the Division Cancer Service Line Physician Leader in a collaborative, dyad model to oversee the day-to-day and strategic operations of the Illinois Division's cancer service line. Together, they align clinical and administrative priorities to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care across the full continuum. This partnership is accountable for translating strategy into action—guiding business planning, facility and program development, operational performance, and quality improvement—while fostering strong physician engagement and seamless integration across all Illinois care settings.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring deep expertise in healthcare administration, large-scale ambulatory operations, cancer service line management, capital projects, and strategic growth. They must be an innovative, forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of optimizing and integrating clinical operations at scale. Key Responsibilities

• Drives transformational change management to establish a world-class National Cancer Service Line, ensuring excellence in patient care, clinical innovation, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for inpatient and outpatient cancer services across the Division.
• Lead multi-year service line strategy, driving patient access, clinical quality, financial growth, and academic impact.
• Manage large-scale capital investments, budget oversight, and financial planning, ensuring service line profitability and sustainability.
• Develop and implement enterprise-wide initiatives, including innovative care models, workforce strategies, and digital transformation efforts across the Illinois Division.
• Foster physician and clinician engagement, ensuring alignment with Division wide strategic priorities.
• Ensure operational excellence through performance metrics, dashboard tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, certifications, and accreditations, expanding the national footprint of Advocate Health's cancer service line within the Division.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Health Administration or Business Administration required, Master's in Health Administration or business administration strongly preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with 5+ years of overseeing physician practices, healthcare administration, or strategic planning
• Proven track record in developing and executing multi-year business plans
• Experience leading and growing a large cancer service line strongly preferred
• Ability to drive large-scale growth and transformation initiatives, balancing strategic priorities with financial and operational execution
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and lead effectively, engaging key stakeholders across a complex, highly matrixed organization
