ControlEngineers are responsible for ensuring thatplants create the best products possible in the most efficient manner. They are highly analytical and use these skills to examine and improve processes in order to increase productivity. At the same time, they are responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.As they perform these functions, controls engineers must also be able to work with other departments and external parties to createand implement processes to increase the plant's efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Thesuccessful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Manage and maintainmachine operation,maintenance procedures, develop preventative maintenanceprogram
Work with maintenance technicians totroubleshoot and recover all major machine breakdowns
Ensure continuousreduction of overall plant downtime using available resources
Completework assignments within budget, manpower and timing constraints
Ensure compliance with all internal and external plant policies and procedures
Ensuresafety of all personnel in the Maintenance group meets company standardsof the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and those within Company Policy
Work with other department for all safety and quality concern investigations to develop proper corrective actions
Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rulesand policies
Conduct otherduties as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering preferred
Knowledge of algorithmdesign and programming logic
Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) methodologies
Minimum 3 yearsexperience working with automation, control, and monitoring systems and software
Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical systems and electrical equipment
Understanding of standardoperating procedures, engineering documentation, and electrical diagrams
Hands-on experiencewith PLC/HMI, machine control and industrial robotics
Technical proficiency in some software applications
Ability to interpret machine schematic, electrical and mechanical drawings
Knowledge of algorithm design and programming logic
