    Job Description

    The ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, parents, and citizens. To collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain high quality of services.

    Organize and administer the overall program of extra-curricular athletics, both intramural and interscholastic, for the District

    Assume responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events

    Hire officials and supervisory personnel as required, and assume general responsibility for the proper supervision of home games

    Assumes responsibility for leadership in the selection, assignment, mentoring, and evaluation of athletic coaches and staff members

    Develop and place into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities

    Verify each athlete's eligibility according to established physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport

    Arrange transportation for athletic contest participants

    Prepare and administer the athletic program budget

    Requisition program supplies and equipment within purchasing policy guidelines and maintain an up-to-date inventory

    Conduct coaches meetings to discuss and deal with matters related to the school system's athletic program and policies

    Arrange field and gym practice schedules

    Supervise all ticket sales of the athletic program, and assume responsibility for proper handling of funds

    Direct an in-school, extracurricular program designed to foster support for the athletic teams and school spirit among non-participants

    Keep records of the results of all Middle School and High School athletic contests, and maintain a record of all award winners, including the date and type of award, and including athletic scholarships

    Plan and supervise an annual recognition program for school athletes

    Coordinate the utilization of all athletic and school facilities in conjunction with the appropriate administrator

    Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program

    Arrange for the printing and distribution of all athletic schedules

    Perform such other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Superintendent of Schools from time-to-time

    At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
    Bachelor degree preferred.
