    This is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced and team environment. As a Welder Technician, you must be well established in the heavy equipment repair and maintenance industry, and will be responsible to produce custom, high-quality, construction, crushing and screening equipment for the aggregate industry.

    The hourly pay range for this position is: $ $38.00. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay.

    Responsibilities
    • Demonstrate Modern Machinery's core values and promote the mission and vision of the company.
    • Follow all company policies and regulations for safe work procedures and contribute to the achievement of company safety goals.
    • On average 50% of your time should be spent on welding and 50% on building machines systems (electrical, hydraulic.) on Komatsu and other Modern Machinery affiliated product lines.
    • The expectation is that you communicate effectively with your team.
    • In conjunction with your supervisor, engineering project lead, the following is expected:
    • Operate equipment as needed to assist in building machines.
    • Utilize hand and power tools to build machines.
    • Read and interpret complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
    • Follow all safety rules and policies while performing all work assignments as specified in company handbooks.
    • Assess parts to determine what is needed for build job
      • Communicate with parts department personnel to order the necessary parts required to complete machine build.
    • Customer satisfaction is our priority at Modern Machinery; all customer inquiries must be handled promptly and in a professional manner.
    • Ensure all welds are inspected, weld repairs executed, and cleanup is complete before painters start painting.
    • Ensuring all assembly work is completed to specifications.
      • Ensure all bolts are tight.
      • Gearboxes are filled with oil.
      • Test run and track all belts.
    • Attends training sessions and meeting as required.
    • Establish, promote, and ensure an outstanding level of customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Job Requirements:
    • Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, climbing ladders and stairs, reaching, pulling, leaning, and twisting.
    • Must be able to work well independently or with others in a team environment.
    • Must be reliable, honest, and have a strong work ethic.
    • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors and co-workers.
    • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
    • Must own required tools.
    • Ability to work overtime with minimal notice.
    • Must be able to travel away from home if needed.
    • Strong computer skills.
    Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma required. Associates or bachelor's degree in diesel technology or related field preferred and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of two to three years of verifiable experience repairing heavy equipment.
    • Welding experience with SMAW, MIG, Oxy-Acetylene cutting. Plasma cutting and some air arc experience is required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
    Pre-employment Testing:
