Storybook Illustrator / Animator Needed — Vintage Romantic Fairy Pages for Social Media
I'm looking for a talented visual artist, illustrator, AI artist, or animator to create a short storybook-style visual sequence (5 pages) for a TikTok / Instagram storytelling post.
The visual style must closely match a vintage Golden Age / Edwardian fairy-book illustration aesthetic — soft water colour rendering, muted romantic palette, delicate feminine figures, and antique decorative book-page composition.
Reference images are provided. Please only apply if this aesthetic is within your comfort zone.This is a short narrative sequence (not a full book).
I already have clear artistic direction, references, font inspiration, text, and story structure prepared. I know the style I'm aiming for — I'm looking for someone who can execute it beautifully and consistently.
What I need
- 5 illustrated storybook pages / panels
- The SAME fairy character consistently across all pages
- Cohesive palette, lighting, rendering style, and visual world
- Romantic vintage Golden Age storybook aesthetic (references provided)
- Clean, polished, production-ready final artwork
- Composition should feel like pages from the SAME antique illustrated book
If you also offer light animation or motion (subtle page movement, particles, camera drift, etc.), this is a big plus.
Process (important)
To ensure we align visually:
Milestone 1 — Paid style test (1 page)
→ locks character + visual direction
Milestone 2 — Remaining 4 pages
Ideal freelancer
You're a great fit if you:
- Can maintain the same character consistently across multiple scenes
- Can closely match a provided historical illustration aesthetic
- Understand narrative composition and storytelling visuals
- Have experience with romantic, vintage, or painterly illustration styles
- Your work is primarily cartoon, anime, or modern graphic illustration
- You cannot match a specific historical aesthetic from references
- You deliver unfinished or unrefined artwork
- You don't offer revisions
- 1–3 portfolio examples that closely match the romantic, vintage aesthetic in my references
- If available, one example showing consistent character rendering across multiple images
- Briefly confirm you have reviewed the uploaded references and feel confident matching the style
Budget
Approx. $450 USD for the 5 illustrated pages.
(Animation, if added, would be quoted separately.)
If this project goes well, I'd love to continue ongoing work on future story visuals and launches.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
