    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are searching for an experienced Commodity Buyer specializing in Provisions and Foodservice.

    The Commodity Buyer will cultivate relationships, negotiate prices, and purchase goods and services from suppliers according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.


    WHAT YOU'LL DO
    Responsible for perishable inventory relative to age and market conditions.
    Builds and maintains vendor relationships to maximize business.
    Negotiates the purchase of commodity proteins.
    Manages inventory within budget limits, while maintaining in stock position.
    Communicates the product quality and the benefits of buying the brand by preparing appropriate presentations.
    Responsible for pricing and margin decisions for assigned products.
    Follows up in a timely fashion with suppliers on deliveries, obtain shipping confirmations/proof of delivery as required.
    Works closely with the marketing team to execute specific marketing campaigns.
    Works closely with Accounts payable to resolve accounting discrepancies as needed.
    Operates with department policies and procedures.
    Reviews daily product allocations.
    Collaborates with the sales teams and work together to achieve the desired growth of the company.
    Maintains records and follow up files of purchases, shipments and related matters.
    Coordinates efforts between Customers, Sales Reps and suppliers.
    Requirements:


    WHAT YOU'LL HAVE
    Bachelor's degree in related field
    Interpersonal and Strong communication skills
    Detail oriented, enthusiastic and self-motivated
    Proficiency in price and cost calculations
    Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere and follow the organizational policies
    Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
    Proficiency in computer including MS office and sales software % % %%retail%%
