SA-TECH currently supports the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command, and the NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field Divisions by providing rapid organic engineering, prototyping, reverse-engineering, environmental testing, antenna repairs and life-cycle extensions, and production capabilities.

We are currently looking to hire a Welder, Combination, Maintenance at our St. Inigoes, MD facilities to perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity on project articles, components, and support structures and equipment.

The following job functions are basic requirements (but other duties may be assigned as well):

• Perform as a member of project work team on project article preparations, modifications, assembly, setup, and teardown using fabrication shop machinery, fabrication, and welding operations to accomplish project requirements according to approved design tolerances.
• Perform modifications to, or construct, unique equipment, systems, and structures.
• Perform inspection and acceptance checks at project milestones and completion of project assignment to ensure technical adequacy.
• Fabricate unconventional, one-of-a-kind items, systems, apparatus, and structures in support of experimental project articles.
• Plan and conduct work from blueprints, drawings, plans, and/or technical publications. Perform maintenance, repair, and update on specialized equipment and systems unique to WOLF operations. Other tasks, as required, to support customer requirements.

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Overtime is a requirement of this position.

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Formal military or trade school or equivalent on-the-job training commensurate with duties.
• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in welding and fabrication at the journeyman level.
• At least two (2) years of total welding experience must be in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding operations, with those years within the past four (4) years.
• Must have expertise with precision hand tools and measuring instruments related to precision welding and fabrication.
• Must have ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and project requirements.
• Must be capable of leading a fabrication team on project efforts to cost, schedule, and technical specifications.
• Must be capable of developing modifications such that project requirements are satisfied without jeopardizing safety of operations.
• Must possess ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians, and management staff on all levels of effort.
• Current Maryland Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
