    Job Summary:


    Work closely with physicians, hospital staff and clinical staff in scheduling patients based on preferences of the physician's orders, emergent needs, add ons and cancellations.

    Maintains Sleep Studies Schedule on Excel, daily calendar and CPSI.

    Obtains required information from physicians, insurance, and patients to assure accurate information is placed in the system and provided to insurance when needed for medical supply needs.

    Assures information is clear so staff is prepared to meet the needs of the sleep physician, MFP provider, and staff.

    Maintains working relationship with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to ease the continuum of care. Work as a liaison between the sleep center and Memorial Family Practice (MFP), as well as other referral sources. Assure information is correct for posting charges with billing department.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Answer all phone calls; take messages as needed.
    • Reviews all referrals and schedule all patients with in a timely manner.
    • Prepares and reviews all prescriptions going to the pulmonary physician or MFP provider
    • Send physician fax backs with scheduled date and time, no shows, cancelled appointments, etc.
    • Schedules follow up appointments for DME Compliance
    • Send records back to referring physician once patients are seen and treated.
    • Follow up on no show/cancelled appointments.
    • Pulls charts with patient info/messages for
    • Perform basic clerical duties as required.
    • Ensure cleanliness of unit, equipment and work area.
    • Implements process flows that are effective at keeping everyone caught up on patient referrals

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of office equipment and ability to handle multi-time telephones
    • Knowledge of medical office practice

    MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education - High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Work Experience - Customer Service, Computer.
    • Training -Customer Service Skills
    • License/Certification - Registered Sleep Technician, Sleep Disorder Specialist, or Registered Respiratory Therapist

    ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
