Job ResponsibilitiesPerform structural engineering assignments under the direction of a licensed engineer with clear and specific objectivesProvide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to structural design teamsAssist with the preparation of structural engineering projects, including:
analysis and design of railroad and highway bridges, reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, prestressed concrete design, deep and shallow foundation analysis and design, development of plans, specifications, and estimates, retaining walls, and other structural elementsApplication of basic techniques, theories, precepts and practices in small and large structural engineering projectsOccasionally required to gather offsite field dataOther duties as assignedJob RequirementsBachelor's degree in civil engineering or related fieldRegistered PE in Texas, or the ability to quickly become registered in Texas6 or more years of experience working with structural engineering, specifically with the design and analysis of bridgesIn depth knowledge of the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Bridge Specifications and American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of
