Ferrellgas is looking for a DOT Material Handler to join the team This position is responsible for inspecting, filling, and loading propane cylinders for drivers and customers. This position will at times, require the incumbent to assist in propane delivery to customer locations in an efficient, punctual, and safe manner while maintaining customer satisfaction. The incumbent must have their CDL license (class A or B) with HAZMAT and tank endorsement or obtain in a timely manner determined by the manager. The incumbent must be able to work independently and lift up to 75 pounds without assistance. This position typical requires a high school diploma and one year related of work experience.

  • Responsibilities

  • Inspects, repairs, fills and loads cylinders.
  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products under safety guidelines.
  • Scrape and paint cylinders and tanks as needed.
  • Maintains service center office, plant and yard for a professional appearance.
  • Promotes safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Based on business needs and qualifications, the Material Handler- DOT would also be required to: Load, secure, transports, delivery, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations Follow DOT related safety procedures including safety inspections on equipment, supplies, and vehicles Ensures all DOT requirements are always met. Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of related work experience.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Genuine commitment to providing superior customer service.
  • Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred or willingness and ability to obtain license in a quick and timely manner
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check
