    Description


    Responsible for supporting management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts, cash application and reconciliation and/or resolving customer service issues.

    Additional responsibilities may include notifying the patient and/or guarantor of liabilities, verifying insurance benefits, and assisting customers regarding billing questions.

    Confirm delivery tickets ensure proof of delivery requirements are met.

    Track and log receipt of delivery tickets from Operations and Professional Services. Communicate any delays with management.

    Track order processing and delivery errors and report back to management.

    Process backorders.

    Bill orders and review for accuracy.

    Create rental claims and review for accuracy.

    Prepare and submit paper claims.

    Prepare billing batches and submit electronic claims.

    Review and correct claim rejections. Identify trends and work with leadership to develop and execute action plans.

    Manage compliance requirements for pap therapy to assure accurate billing.

    Maintain CSR error log.

    Review tickets in Billing for accuracy and audit medical records to verify medical policy requirements are met.

    Verifies modifiers are in place in accordance with the individual payor requirements and communicates any errors in the matrix.

    Verifies pricing is accurate and communicates errors to assure pricing tables are accurate.

    Verify the accuracy of orders created by CSRS and that all required demographic and order information is complete.

    Verify insurance process has been followed and authorizations have been obtained as needed.

    Regular telephone contact with patients/clients, discharge planners, physicians and their staff, and other referral sources.

    Respond to problem situations, documenting the inquiry and responding in a timely and efficient manner.

    Report system errors to management for correction (missing modifiers, pricing discrepancies).

    Must be able to qualify patients for equipment based on Medicare and insurance guidelines.

    Facilitate communications with other departments by coordinating the delivery and setup of product and services.

    Performs all other duties as required by the supervisor/manager.

    Overtime may be required

    High School Diploma of Equivalent.

    1-2 Years previous healthcare billing experience preferred.

    Ability to read, interpret and apply medical medical policies and make informed decisions regarding coverage criteria.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Must be organized and have the ability to work independently, identify and solve problems.

    Willingness to learn, attention to detail and good follow up skills
