    Job Description:


    Facilitates the attainment and maintenance of an optimal level of health for essentially normal women which includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecological, health maintenance and minor acute illness care.

    Responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, initial and ongoing assessment for suitability of traditional midwifery care; providing prenatal education and coordinating with a licensed health care provider as necessary to provide comprehensive prenatal care, including the routine monitoring of vital signs, indicators of fetal developments, and laboratory tests, as needed, with attention to the physical, nutritional, and emotional needs of the woman and her family.

    Attending and supporting the natural process of labor and birth; postpartum care of the mother and an initial assessment of the newborn, and providing information and referrals to community resources on childbirth preparation, breast-feeding exercise, nutrition, parenting, and care of the newborn.

    Cares for patients as noted on age-related category.


    Work Experience:
    Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in an applicable clinical area.


    Education Qualifications:
    Master degree in nursing.

    Certified Nurse-Midwife - OB/GYN - Duluth, MN The Certified Nurse-Midwife, and Advance Practice RN, facilitates the attainment and maintenance of an optimal level of health for essentially normal women which includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecological, health maintenance and minor acute illness care.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initial and ongoing assessment for suitability of traditional midwifery care; providing prenatal care with opportunity to consult with an Obstetrician as necessary or indicated to provide comprehensive prenatal care, including the routine monitoring of vital signs, indicators of fetal developments, and laboratory tests, as needed, with attention to the physical, nutritional, and emotional needs of the woman and her family.

    Attending and supporting the natural process of labor and birth; postpartum care of the mother and providing information and referrals to community resources on childbirth preparation, breast-feeding exercise, nutrition, parenting, and care of the newborn.

    The Certified Nurse-Midwife cares for patients as noted on age-related category.


    This position offers:

    • Opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a busy OB/Gyn practice
    • CNM's enjoy working within full scope midwifery practice, except for newborn care, within a multi-specialty practice with access to work collaboratively with obstetricians and specialists in MFM, genetics, and reproductive medicine supportive of midwifery practice
    • CNM team currently has their own panel of patients, supporting them through delivery
    • Supportive, friendly, and engaged team environment
    • The current team is made of 11 OB/Gyn physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners and 5 Certified Nurse Midwives
    • Opportunity to work within a teaching facility for a Family medicine Residency Program where CNM's have the opportunity to help advance the education of residents in low intervention birth

    OB/GYN Department - Duluth Clinic - First Street Building

    Anticipated Schedule:
    Variable schedule - Clinic, hospital and on-call for laboring patients

    Weekends and holidays - rotation among CNM team


    EDUCATION:
    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a master's degree and certified registered nurse midwifery program as approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives

    CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
    Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota Current certification in CPR or BLS National certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice

    Pay Range

    $ $61.14 / hour

    The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package.

    The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities,
    FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
