Occupational Therapist Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to evaluate and treat patients with various impairments, using a patient-centered approach. This role requires excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans that address their functional deficits and goals.
• Conduct thorough examinations, selecting reliable methods relevant to the chief complaint and history. Perform range-of-motion testing for upper extremity function if applicable.
• Cultivate effective relationships with referring providers by keeping them informed about patient progress and recommending optimal treatments.  If applicable, complete daily documentation in therapy EMR. Provide therapeutic ultrasound treatment when necessary. 

Requirements:

This role necessitates possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. A licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) certification is required; basic life support training should be completed within 30 days; American Heart Association approval is also needed.
