Nurse Manager | G20 Leukemia Inpatient Unit (Eve / Night Shift)
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention.
The ideal candidate will have a BSN Degree or higher with at least five years of professional nursing experience to include one year supervisory experience in direct patient care activities.
Function- Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates individualized nursing care; nursing care management and nursing personnel management for a designated area.
Essential Job Functions
Manages nursing administration in identification of purpose and goals of nursing service and nursing education. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates nursing care. Coordinates staffing. Manages budget preparation toward provision of adequate personnel, supplies and equipment. Responsible for nursing care in assigned area. Counsels and evaluates nursing personnel for optimum performance. Develops and participates in orientation and in-service education programs for areas of specialization. Collaborates with faculty and assists respective area.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Experience
Required:
Five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
Licensure/Certification
Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred:
Preferred:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
