    Accountability:


    The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing and testing company products; providing technical support for sales, manufacturing, and service of company products; developing engineering concepts for product features and new product offerings, participating in specially assigned projects; and assisting other engineering personnel with their efforts.

    Scope and Responsibilities:


    Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    1. Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
    2. Utilizes extensive creativity, mechanical design ability, and good interpersonal skills.
    3. Designs and coordinates the development of portions of machine tools and related equipment and systems.
    4. Creates design layouts and detail part drawings.
    5. Performs engineering analysis.
    6. Specifies machine components, materials, and purchased parts.
    7. Conducts and/or participates in design reviews.
    8. Establishes machine specifications, develops procedures and evaluation criteria for engineering and performance testing of designs.
    9. Provides technical support for the following functions:
    • Sales - supplies information regarding design capabilities and function; advises about application and special features.
    • Manufacturing - provides information and assistance with production issues; supplies guidance and training to production personnel; helps develop manufacturing, assembly and test products.
    • Service - provides information and assistance to Field Service and Install to correct field performance problems; provides technical information and advice for training and development of instruction manuals.
  • Analyzes costs and develops engineering designs for special equipment and features requested by sales and/or customers and for new product offerings.
  • Creates designs that are functional, safe, reliable, economical, serviceable, and marketable.
  • Meets product plan goals.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in technology and competitive products.
  • Profile Education/Certification:


    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.

    Experience:


    Machine tool design background including specialized mechanisms, rotating assemblies, power transmission systems, sheet metal guarding, spindles, motion control, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls.

    Skills:


    Self-directed with excellent work ethic and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal skills. Engineering Design Software expertise. Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

    Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
