- Act as primary care to newborn infants in the NICU
- Assessing, diagnosing, and carrying out care for at risk newborn infants. Designing treatment plans for infants staying in the NICU
- Ordering and performing necessary medical tests and procedures, up to and including neonatal resuscitation.
- Educating and supporting parents and guardians in the care of their infant
- Medication management
- A medical degree in Neonatology followed by a successful completion of a residency and fellowship.
- Licenses and certifications to practice neonatology.
- On call for emergencies.
