Job summary
The University of Rochester is seeking a Nurse Anesthetist to provide anesthesia service to patients at Strong Memorial Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing and be certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Responsibilities include performing pre-anesthesia patient interviews, evaluating patient conditions, and administering anesthesia/analgesia at required safe levels.
Responsibilities
- Veni-puncture arterial puncture laryngoscopy oral or nasal intubation induction and maintenance of anesthesia analgesia at required safe level monitoring support life junctions during administration of anesthesia detecting and managing untoward reactions to anesthesia agents other drugs used during surgery accompanying patient to recovery room informing nurse assuming responsibility for patient's care during emergence immediate post-operative recovery period maintaining accurate neat legible complete anesthesia record inspecting equipment supplies health safety hazards pursuing professional growth knowledge through continuing education opportunities available attending departmental seminars as often possible keeping abreast current concepts techniques journals
