- Run tissue processor to produce paraffin blocks and file them
- Embed pathology specimens to view all layers
- Cut Pathology specimens on rotary microtome
- Stain routine Hematoxylin Eosin and special stains
- Perform order entry, update on LISA, label, and sign out slides
- Perform cover slipping, quality control, equipment maintenance, and prepare solutions
- Process requests and assist in Immunohistochemistry procedures
- Perform other duties as needed
- Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Life Sciences required
- New York State Department of Education Certified Histological Laboratory Technician License or limited permit required
- Prior experience in tissue handling, technical procedures, and equipment mentioned
- Knowledge of histopathology and immunohistochemistry techniques

Join the Montefiore Medical Center's Division of Clinical Pathology team, dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare services. As a Technician Histology, you will play a crucial role in preparing pathological slides for diagnostic procedures.

This position is based in the Surgical Pathology lab at the Moses campus, with working hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Department: Pathology Bargaining Unit: 1199 Campus: MOSES Employment Status: Regular Full-Time Shift: Evening Scheduled Hours: 7 AM-3:30 PM Salary Range/Pay Rate: $29.80
