    Advertised Salary: $40,727 - $53,964 Depending on experience/qualifications

    Job Description: Our Development & Permits department is seeking an Engineering Technician I to provide technical and administrative support to the Engineering and Development Construction division. A successful candidate for this position will be able to do the following:
    • Can multi-task and handle several tasks at the same time.
    • Provide daily administrative functions supporting engineering and construction division.
    • Manage customers' requests including walk-ins, emails, phone calls and FOIAs (Freedom of Information Act.)
    • Have general computer knowledge and gain the ability to navigate City systems such as: Accela, Laserfiche, Outlook, GIS and other related applications.
    • Analyzes development plans and is able to respond to questions about designs.
    • Ability to research property records and development history.

    Required Qualifications: VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENT : Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's in engineering, drafting, or a closely related field.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.

    SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Depending on departmental operational requirements, may require valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards .

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency
    operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
