    Job Description

    As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your duties will be to maintain all equipment, buildings and grounds. Also, to learn other job tasks so you can fill in other positions as needed.

    We are looking for individuals who are able to work in 1st shift as well as open to working weekends and overtime.

    Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    • Direct responsibility for maintenance operations on a daily shift basis
    • Preventative maintenance on all equipment, buildings and grounds
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment
    • Perform welding task within scope of work
    • Knowledge of all equipment onsite and how it operates
    • Ability to read and understand all equipment manuals
    • Clean up any spills and residues in and around the facility
    • Leave work area or maintenance shop clean and organized at the end of each shift
    • Always maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Wear proper PPE as required
    • Able to follow directions and work unsupervised at times
    • Verify, confirm and oversight all equipment to assure OSHA standards are met or exceeded
    • Work directly with Operations Manager and EHS to prioritize maintenance work
    • Order and oversee inventory of supplies needed for the maintenance department
    • Be involved in mandatory pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational meetings detailing task to be completed on shift and review all safety including proper PPE and monitoring
    • Be cross trained to fill in for production when neededQualifications

      Basic Required Qualifications:
    • Strong background and knowledge of general maintenance and mechanical knowledge
    • Strong background in safe use of hand and power tools
    • Good communication skills
    • Safety-first mentality
    • Minimum of 3 years in maintenance
    • Positive attitude and maintain production-focused attitude
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Mig and stick welding as well as use of oxygen/acetylene torch
