The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health seeks a Program Coordinator to support the grant-funded expansion of its Addiction Medicine Fellowship.

This initiative will increase the fellowship from two to five fellows annually and strengthen addiction medicine training, clinical services, and workforce development in Philadelphia-a city with overdose death rates twice the national average.

Through this expansion, the program aims to improve substance use disorder (SUD) outcomes locally and nationally.

The Program Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and programmatic support for the fellowship and related initiatives.

This role oversees day-to-day coordination, scheduling, data collection, and management of the expansion activities while working closely with internal faculty, staff, and external community partners who host fellows for clinical rotations.


The position will, coordinate all logistical and administrative aspects of the fellowship expansion, including scheduling, travel, reimbursements, and rotation coordination with community-based partners; maintain program communications and materials, including website content and recruitment support; summarize fellowship evaluations and assist with accreditation and reporting requirements; work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and project team to implement grant deliverables, manage timelines, and prepare progress reports; support development and implementation of research and evaluation activities using both qualitative and quantitative methods; facilitate communication and coordination among faculty, fellows, and partner organizations; contribute to strategic planning for the fellowship and broader addiction medicine educational and clinical programming; and, participate in related projects that advance the department's addiction medicine and community health mission.


The position will report to the Division Administrator for Community Health and Research and will have day-to-day responsibilities directed by the PI and Academic Manager.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to manage multiple competing timelines and directives, and strong organization and coordination skills.

Familiarity with academic medicine, graduate medical education, and federal grants is ideal. The position is hybrid, with 3-4 days expected in person, and 1-2 days remote.

The position is contingent upon future funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
