    Amazon Data Services, Inc. background
    Full time
    Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider of virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services all over the world.

Our customers trust us to handle their data with air-tight security measures, which is something that we guarantee.

The AWS Data Center Security team is looking for a creative, innovative, results-oriented program manager in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C area to lead security and security-systems projects and programs in the data center environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to a collaborative and productive environment with a strong service-oriented culture among multiple diverse and highly skilled teams of project and program managers.

These teams are responsible for the design, installation, and evolution of physical security systems and programs to include intrusion detection, access control/management, CCTV, screening, emergency response, etc.

A successful candidate will have the ability to manage difficult and interdependent projects with a regional impact.

You will be responsible for enabling the interpretation of Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security mitigations are selected and implemented to meet the unique challenges in each area.

You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to assure each data center meets the high standards AWS sets for physical security.

You must also ensure local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources necessary to meet the ongoing physical security mission.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Project Management for physical security systems related to new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects.
    • Preparation of physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and closeout documentation.
    • Contemporary knowledge of emerging physical security technologies to assess their applicability within the AWS physical security program.
    • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for leadership to make strategic decisions regarding technology and procedure.
    • Balance performance metrics such as physical security system installation vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, post installation defect rates, physical security program analysis, etc.
    • Manage vendors for the onboarding, RFQ, bid, contract, QA/QC, and support processes.
    • Effectively and accurately manage multimillion dollar budgets for infrastructure projects and initiatives.
    • Collaborate across teams and provide support for global initiatives.
    About the team
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally.

We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences.

Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 16 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.

We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that's why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.

    Amazon values diverse experiences.

Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply.

If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.

    We value work-life harmony.

Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture.

When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve in the cloud.

Here at AWS, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences.

Ongoing events and learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, inspire us to never stop embracing our uniqueness.
