    Job Responsibilities

    General ResponsibilityTo process required data from Security and Private Investigation (P.I.) applications for the Regulatory Services department.

    Specific Duties
    • Function as a team member in the processing of applications. Receive and compile all fingerprint responses from SLED and the FBl. Answer telephone, interpret state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding SLED Regulatory functions.
    • Enter Security Company and P.I. license application information into various databases and assist in the processing of those applications.
    • Enter, process, and retrieve application packets and prepare background investigations. Responsible for issuance of security company licenses and P.l. licenses in a timely manner as required by law.
    • Organize and assist in the maintenance of files on all applicants in the Security P.I. section of Regulatory Services. Perform other administrative duties within the unit as required.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements
    • High school diploma and two (2) years of experience in records management, information systems or office administration. An associates degree may be substituted for required experience.
    • Knowledge of laws, regulation, policies and procedures relevant to the agency and the Regulatory Services unit.
    • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
    • Ability to communication effectively.
    • Occasional in and out-of-state travel may be required.
