- Developing annual unit plans to address health issues impacting the Latine community in Minnesota.
- Managing partnerships/collaborative relationships to expand and enhance programmatic outcome achievement.
- Fulfilling all government and contract requirements and ensuring regular internal auditing/monitoring for programs and any program sub-grantees.
- Collaborating with COPAL's leadership team, managers, and others to expand programming.
- Establishing and monitoring program/service standards, policies, and procedures that ensure high quality services.
- Participating in public policy meetings representing COPAL's vision for building an inclusive Minnesota.
- Writing and implementing MOUs with contracted staff.
- Collaborating with the development office to secure funding for the unit.
- Building relationships with donors (i.e., foundations, corporations, individuals) and contractors to sustain, expand, and diversify unit's funding streams.
- Developing, monitoring, and meeting budget expectations.
- Conducting monthly budget and billing reviews with Executive Director and Accounting team to ensure fiscal accountability.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, scheduling, participating, and coordinating site visits with funders.
- Building a strong team through open communication and collaborating on decision-making responsibilities.
- Managing employee and team performance through ensuring adequate training, communicating job expectations, supporting professional development aspirations, and investigating complaints and performance concerns.
- Managing the hiring process for positions within their respective team.
- Managing and ensuring effective employee relations.
- Accepting resignations; initiating terminations and executing layoff actions following established protocols.
- Reviewing and approving leave and overtime requests and timecards in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all personnel changes for this team are entered into the Human Resources Management System in a timely fashion to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Participating in fundraising as appropriate to the role, including site visits with funders and phone banking to increase membership/donor support.
- Expectations for all staff include learning and articulating the foundational concepts of COPAL and those of their specific units. This includes the mission, vision, and principles of Jemez, COPAL's political platform; mastering the purpose (mission & vision) of each employee's unit; and how their work contributes to advancing the COPAL mission.

- You are a confident communicator and presenter with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- You can speak English and Spanish fluently.
- You are skilled in writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, and professional printing/publishing, including the ability to present concepts verbally.
- You have demonstrably strong organizational and planning skills.
- You are highly skilled in project management and time management with proven ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- You are a relational leader and good team player who demonstrates consistency and follow-through.
- You demonstrate a commitment to economic, racial, and gender justice and commitment to progressive political change.
- You are preferably proficient in databases (Air Table and Every Action) and MS Office products.
- You are able to understand and manage budgets.
- You have prior knowledge of foundation and government funding sources aligned with COPAL's programming.
- You have the ability to establish clear goals, expectations, and protocols for organizational fund development and management.
- You have prior knowledge and experience in project design, development, implementation, evaluation, grant writing and budget development.
- You are skilled in conflict management.
- You have the ability to travel to sites within 15-mile radius of the office and are able to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet COPAL's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).

Wages & Benefits
$68,000 - $70,000 annual salary; 8 paid holidays; stipend for cell phone use; generous paid time off policy; affordable health, dental and vision insurance; employer paid term life and disability coverage; competitive retirement plan with matching contribution, immediate eligibility, and vesting; paid parental leave. This role will be conducted fully in-person.
A Typical Day in the Life...
A typical day as COPAL's Health & Wellness Director provides an opportunity to be in a leadership role and provide direction for the organization's human service programs. These programs develop strategic unit plans to address health trends impacting the Latine community in Minnesota. This role partners with the Executive Director to build a strong staff that fosters an environment of collaboration that is focused on achieving COPAL's mission and core strategies.
