    Starting Salary: $111,176/yr + DOE
    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

    Job Summary

    The Director of Integrated Behavioral Health provides direction and management oversight for Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH, BH) services across the three programs at Virginia Garcia's primary care clinics and school-based programs. These programs include Integrated Behavioral and Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder Services, and Enhanced Care Management. This position is part of senior leadership and works across our medical, dental, and pharmacy programs. The Director also works closely with a multitude of community partners. These collaborations focus on ensuring that the delivery of excellent Behavioral Health care for patients at all Virginia Garcia's integrated primary care clinics and school-based health programs is successful and sustainable.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    · Maintain an awareness of VG's mission and strategic plan, specifying joint accountability in providing IBH for patients receiving clinical care at VGMHC.

    · Support VG's Strategic Plan, in particular those VG initiatives that fall under Behavioral Health.

    · Collaborate with medical providers doing Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR), also known as Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) program, including coordination with medical leadership and primary care clinic management.

    · Oversee the planning, implementation, and performance of all BH Programs.

    · Partner with clinical leadership and clinic operations management to develop, implement and/or upgrade systems that affect and/or enhance BH service delivery for a diverse patient population across all sites.

    · Participate in VG internal leadership meetings: Senior Leadership Council, Medical Services Leadership Team (MSLT), Quality Oversight Committee, all leaders meeting, Compliance Committee, behavioral health managers meeting, IBH huddles, Executive Team Huddle, tier 3

    Medical Services huddle, Integrated Behavioral Health Quality Improvement meeting, and others as assigned.

    · Lead, develop and supervise BH staff dedicated to BH including IBH and MH Supervisors, Social Workers, Operations Specialist, BH Manager, SUDS Manager, and Peer Support Supervisor

    · Provide ongoing staff education and development.

    · Work with IBH leadership team to support the goals and mission of VG as well as the development, training, and retention of all IBH staff.

    · Ensure IBH resources are available to meet the patient needs at all primary care clinics and school-based health programs.

    · Participate in strategic relationships with external partners. Examples of these activities are VG/Lifeworks Steering Committee, County BHRN committees, CCO meetings including IBH, community leadership and special project meetings, and community forums.

    · Lead and participate in quality-of-care initiatives and process improvements related to the delivery of Integrated Behavioral Health care for VG primary care clinics and school-based health programs, including assessment tools (PHQ9, SBIRT, and ASQ), metrics, and reach.

    · Participate in organizational and strategic planning for long-term needs, resources, and program management.

    · Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all areas of administrative and patient care.

    · Develop, implement, and sustain evidence-based IBH standards of care and associated policies.

    · Oversee program quality improvement and monitor outcome, patient experience, and utilization data.

    · Work effectively as part of the VGMHC Medical Program leadership and VG senior leadership to implement program strategic direction and improvements; act as an advocate for BH Integration in primary care, dental and pharmacy.

    · Work closely as part of the Workforce Development (WFD) team to create, support, and sustain robust WFD for all positions within the IBH Department.

    · Facilitate a robust supervision and training program for students assigned to VGMHC as part of their professional education, as appropriate.

    · Facilitate supervision for post-master level therapists for licensure, as appropriate.

    · Oversee budgeting and financial management of the IBH department, practicing a high level of fiduciary responsibility.

    · Provide oversight for all VG grants and contracts related to IBH to ensure compliance with the achievement of stated project goals and objectives and assist in writing required project reports.

    · Support Credentialing Team to ensure clear workflows and processes are effective and efficient for timely credentialing of provider staff positions.

    · Support Finance Team to monitor the coding and billing processes for BH.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.

    HIPAA Requirements

    The Director of IBH will have access to protected health information (PHI) in the course of carrying out their duties. The Director will use the PHI for treatment purposes and quality assurance/improvement operations. Applying the minimum necessary standard of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA), the designated records sets to which the employee will have access include: the demographic and scheduling information in the practice management system and full medical record.

    · Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with providing IBH in an outpatient primary health care setting care for a diverse population.

    · Ability to provide financial oversight of VG's IBH program, develop budgets, and apply for grants and other types of funding.

    · Knowledgeable about state governance policies and regulations related to VG's ability to offer integrated primary health services and to maintain an awareness of legislative actions that may affect program operations related to the delivery of behavioral and mental health care.

    · Ability to solve problems in a creative and resourceful manner and consider new approaches to patient care.

    · Ability to be detail oriented, multi-task, and work in the absence of detailed instructions.

    · Ability and means to travel locally to various locations during working hours.

    · Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations or emergencies.

    · Ability to handle fast-paced work environment with multiple competing time-sensitive demands.

    · Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, safe driving record and insurance coverage required.

    · Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

    Education and Experience

    · Minimum of master's in social work, psychology, or a related field required.

    · Licensure in the clinical field required.

    · Five or more years of management experience is required.

    · Experience as part of an interdisciplinary team providing BH for patients receiving care within an integrated primary care clinic preferred.

    · Experience creating and managing budgets and grants and exhibiting a high level of fiduciary responsibility is required.

    · Five years' experience developing and working closely with internal and external partners required.

    · Experience working in a multi-cultural, diverse environment preferred.
