- Graduate of Accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD).
- Completion of an Accredited Residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Board certification, or eligibility, in cardiothoracic surgery. If newly graduated from residency, certification must be obtained within 2 years of graduation. Board certification must be kept current.
- Unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia,
- Current DEA certificate without restriction

The University of Virginia Physicians Group, in conjunction with Riverside Medical Group, is currently seeking a full time, talented Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team at Riverside Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery located at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.
Successful candidate will be a member of the UVA Cardiothoracic Surgery Division through a new strategic affiliation between UVA and Riverside Health Systems.
For over twenty years, Riverside Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery has committed to providing quality and patient-centered care in all aspects of cardiovascular and thoracic disease close to home.
