Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by physician document patient findings provide education and support to patients' families is essential to this role . < h3 > Key Responsibilities : < ul >< li > Provide bedside care for various patients including pre- and post-op patients . < li > Administer medication report any adverse reactions to treatment . Change dressings insert catheters start IVs prep equipment aid physician during examination and treatment of patient educate patients on surgical procedures participate in discharge planning initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician .
