Physical Therapy Assistant - Grand Junction

The PTA administers and monitors therapeutic interventions based on goals formulated by a Physical Therapist but must be able to carry out a general treatment plan without the direct involvement of a Physical Therapist.
This is an open continuous announcement until February Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available.
Receives and interprets requests or instructions for procedures from the physical therapist or physician Plans and implements specialized treatment programs and applies physical therapy procedures to patients under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist Completes a preliminary review/examination of patient data including medical history compiles organizes pertinent information develops/presents patient profile used assessing patient's status Assists with or renders course treatment based assessed needs patient developing progressive types physical therapy treatments done consultation with Physical Therapist or Physician Interacts with Patient Family regarding goals for Treatment Prepares maintains appropriate equipment supplies required treatments Modifies intervention environment tools materials activities response each veteran's response Treatment Adapts technical procedures approaches involving new unusual objectives meet individual veteran needs prior approval therapist Demonstrates ability identify resolve interpersonal professional conflicts dealing Patients Members organization Communicates effectively primary population geriatric veterans/families recognizes/reports potential cases Patient Abuse Maintains confidentiality Patient medical records established policy Follows Standards Ethical Conduct defined Medical Center Memorandums applicable regulations laws Compliance Program Maintains safe work environment include non-technical maintenance equipment safety checks cleaning stocking etc Develops safe work habits prevent injury Patients co-workers self Reports supervisory PT need equipment items necessary patient treatment Maintains high level competence participation continuing education programs Assists Supervision Training student assistants volunteers students healthcare practitioners Consults staff physicians through presentations attendance interdisciplinary conferences clinics
