    Shift:
    7:00 AM - 7:00 PM



    Experience:

    • 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is preferred.
    • 3 months of experience with Cerner is required.

    Requirements:

    • Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license in hand at the time of application.
    • This role will require floating to multiple units
    • Candidates must live at least 160 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role.
    • Flu vaccination required to apply. Medical declinations accepted.
    Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

    Additional Details:
    Candidates with a permanent Maine Address are NOT eligible for assignment at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

    Scheduling:
    Weekend rotation: every other; occasionally back-to-back weekends – flexibility is key

    Holiday Expectations:
    no RTO requests at this time

    RTO approval:
    Must be sent to Manager for approval
    Schedule cycle: 4 weeks at a time; will receive 2 weeks in advance
    Minimum

    Experience:

    RN: 2 years of Med/Tele experience – no exceptions

    Will you accept a first-time traveler?
    RN:
    Must get manager approval on 1st time travelers
    Please ask all travelers about charge experience and include in the offer info if they have/have not worked in a CRN capacity
    Telemetry experience (Cardiac rhythm interpretation) – will not transport patient on Tele but must be able to verify/interpret strips on the unit General post-surgical experience is a MUST
    Vascular surgical patients comprise a large portion of our patient population.

    This person would need to have the basic knowledge of what to look at and for (assessment-wise) with this type of patient.

    Ortho post-op (total joints, ORIF) experience is preferred, peripheral IV starts, tube feedings, TPN, Trach Care, Chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, drain management and removal (JP, Accordian), dressing changes, wound vacs
    Comfortability to discontinue non-tunneled catheters, will wean patients off Epidural pump per order set, PCAs Heparin Drips, Insulin Drips; NO cardiac drips or cardiac push meds

    Any color, must be professional No crocs No artificial nails No cell phone use or ear pods in ANY patient care areas

    Maximum days off: 6 days
