- Drive month-end close and year-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of budget-to-actual reports.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items.
- Drive related party/affiliate accounting and intercompany account reconciliations.
- Review the general ledger for discrepancies and/or entry errors, making necessary corrections.
- Work closely with Financial Analyst and other Senior Accountants to understand how to calculate, account for and reconcile the Work in Progress schedule.
- Maintain the fixed asset system of all property and equipment; including monthly entries, reconciliation and physical inventories.
- Maintenance of company equipment module.
- Project setup and maintenance in Sage.
- Assist with the review and preparation of entity level financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Variance Analysis, both routine and ad hoc.
- Prepare schedules for annual audit; research issues, clarify information and prepare supporting documentation.
- Attend and support physical inventories as needed. Oversees the reconciliation of inventory.
- Support the Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, and FPA Manager with special projects as needed.
- Make recommendations to increase operational efficiency and accuracy. Support process improvement initiatives.
- Cross trains and supports other functional areas within Accounting department to improve departmental operational efficiency.
- Always acts in a professional and courteous manner, representing highest standards of business conduct, exhibits a positive attitude, sharing information with co-workers as appropriate and works to promote a cooperative, productive teamwork environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- Sage 300-Timberline experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Construction background preferred.
- Superior interpersonal skills and excellent judgement to handle sensitive and confidential information and interactions.
- Deadline-oriented, highly organized self-starter with the ability to move projects forward independently.
- Meticulous attention to details and accuracy.
- Flexible outlook toward task management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- CPA/CMA candidate.
- Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Mathematic Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitate period close, general ledger accountability, financial reporting, financial analysis and other special projects as assigned. Provide additional support to other accounting team members as needed.
