    Description

    Job Summary:

    As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will work in a laboratory environment performing physical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process/byproducts, and finished goods.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct tests on raw materials, in-process/byproducts, and finished products according to the Sample Analysis Reference Table.
    • Perform tests and provide results in a timely manner.
    • Report out-of-specification results to the Laboratory Supervisor, Quality Control Office, and Production Supervision when necessary.
    • Record test results on appropriate forms, in computer databases, or logbooks.
    • Verify samples yielding out-of-specification results and document accordingly.
    • Collaborate closely with production and laboratory staff.
    • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
    • Manage State Regulatory Logs as required.
    • Adhere to Plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
    • Obtain machine certifications from New York State within six months of employment.
    • Preserve confidentiality regarding Sorrento products and recipes.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.
    • Attend departmental meetings and in-services as needed.
    • Carry out all duties according to safety standards for the general safety of all staff.
