Position Description:
The Office of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Environmental Occupational Safety Programs (EOSP) Divisions is an interdisciplinary team of safety professionals providing risk and safety services to the UCLA campus community.
Under the general supervision of the Asbestos and Lead Programs Manager, the Industrial Hygienist (Asbestos & Lead) works both independently and supervised to: A) Provide technical services to University project managers and departmental clients for the investigation and identification of asbestos, lead-based paint and other building related hazardous materials by conducting comprehensive hazardous materials surveys and drafting related reports; B) Assist the Asbestos and Lead Programs Manager with implementation of the campus-wide Asbestos and Lead Management Programs by performing inspections, updating files, maintaining databases, and developing campus policies; C) Assist with other Industrial Hygiene sampling duties; and D) Serve as a member of the Emergency and Hazardous Material Response Team as assigned by completing appropriate training and responding to hazardous material releases.
