    Claims Auditor - Commercial Insurance Industry

    Essential Job Functions:

    • This position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating closed and open claim files against our Claims Handling Guidelines or Best Practices to ensure that company procedures are followed.
    This will include claims handled by our Third Party Administrators (TPAs) as well as claims handled by our internal claims staff (Starr Adjustment Services)* Perform audits through claim systems and on-site visits
    • Activities will include pre-audit preparation, actual audit, prepare audit report and follow up on recommendations
    • Will be required to review, and monitor, multiple on line claims systems
    • Participate in claim file reviews with insureds, brokers and Third Party Administrator's claim personnel
    • May have responsibility for specialized analytic reporting for each line of business
    • May be called upon to support product development/enhancement and other projects as neededLocation: Atlanta, GA

    Position Requirements:

    • This position is shown as being open in Atlanta but, for a strong candidate, it may be possible to base this role in another Starr office within the US
    • The ideal candidate will have experience with the General and Auto Liability lines of business
    • Seven to 10 years of technical claims handling experience managing relevant claims or managing TPA oversight
    • A Bachelor's Degree is required
    • Demonstrated success of the claims handling process, compliance procedures, and high level of analytical capability will be important
    • The strongest candidate will have experience auditing claim files, but any candidate must have the experience to provide technical expertise and research for issues within the Claims organization
    • Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Must be self-motivated and a team player
    • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
    • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
    • Must be service and risk-management oriented
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
    • Travel may be required and will vary depending on business needs and caseload
