    Description
    General Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing direct patient care based on treatment plan established by primary PT.

    Examples of Duties: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
    • Carries our treatment plan as prescribed by physician and developed by physical therapist.
    • Operates therapeutic equipment and devices including crutches, walkers, exercise apparatus, canes, electrical stimulator, traction, and heat/cold modalities.
    • Documents care and other patient information for medial record including history, treatment, and consultations.
    • Assists with exam/exercise room cleanliness, equipment maintenance, supply inventorying/stocking.
    • Complies with department policies/procedures and regulations related to infection control, safety, quality improvement.
    • Maintains patient and office confidentiality.
    • Performs related work as required.
    Qualifications: Knowledge of Physical Therapy principles, standards, and techniques of physical therapy. Skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence and keeping patient care records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and public. Skill in identifying and recommending problem resolution. Knowledge of safety requirements. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

    Education: Associates degree from an accredited PTA school, with successful completion of clinical internship.

    Experience: Minimum of one year experience preferred as physical therapist assistant, preferably in clinic setting. Computer experience required.

    Certificate/License: Current state of Florida physical therapist assistant license.
