    Description
    Medical Assistant needed for a Health Center in Santa Monica, California

    Schedule:
    Monday - Friday. Shifts can be within the timeframe of 8:00am - 4:30pm.$24.00 per hour; Thirteen-week contract assignment.


    Required Qualifications:

    Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI. Limited X-Ray license with experience in extremities and orthopedics

    • Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
    • 6+ months working as an MA in an Orthopedic setting
    • 1+ year of experience in an outpatient medical or healthcare setting
    • Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture

    Experience with would care and cast carePreferred Qualifications:

    • 2+ years working as a MA in outpatient Orthopedics
    • Experience with CS-Link/Epic
    • Experience with Allscripts
    • Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
    • Phlebotomy certification
    • Understanding of medical terminology
    Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plansJob Duties:

    • Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds and record in medical record
    • Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data
    • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
    • Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
    • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
    • Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider
    • Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by providerMAY NEED TO FLOAT TO OTHER LOCATION
