Responsibilities

Assists teachers in the care and instruction of preschool children promotes their social physical and mental development Provides supervision of children supports the planning and implementation of classroom lessons activities Serves meals ensures a healthy safe learning environment for children Assist in completing required documentation ensure high quality program

Skills
  • Taking an active role assisting teacher with classroom responsibilities assigned Ensuring proper care safety supervision groups children up hours per day Ensure appropriate child teacher ratio always met Ensure classroom routine conducive learning safety development Ability work with children varying abilities adhere Individual Educational Plans Assist planning implementing weekly lesson plans activities indoors out accordance curriculums Head Start Performance Standards Assist conducting learning developmental assessments children including DRDP-2015 ASQ-3 ASQ SE2 etc according timelines available Encourages parents participate screening assessment process anecdotal information Conduct interior exterior environmental checks ensure safe learning environment Prepare serve family style meals Serve translator parents English suitable Participate recruitment enrollment goals Assist gathering maintaining sign-in-out records paperwork manually digitally Maintain instructional supplies Participate set-up take down classroom outdoor environments necessary Attend assignments away site as needed Train supervise parents volunteers Use non-teaching time complete paperwork home visits conferences requirements Implement policies procedures Provide culturally linguistically customer service parents community representatives staff daily Ability attend assignments away assigned site e.g inservice trainings home visits parent meetings trainings etc Must have exceptional organizational time management skills Implement agency policies procedures Cooperate Site Lead Regional Site Director Service Area Coordinators planning supervision overall program Supports child watch during parent meetings trainings needed Substitute need accordance Collective Bargaining Agreement Attend all assigned meetings trainings required by program Support achievement recruitment enrollment goals Assist accomplishing programs nonfederal share accessing community resources services donations discounts goods Other duties assigned scope position
