    About the Opportunity:

    At Forever Gifts Inc, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development Assistant to join our dynamic team As a Product Development Assistant, you'll be instrumental in bringing our buying projects to life, from concept to launch. Working closely with the Director of Product Development and various teams, you'll identify market opportunities, propose solutions aligned with our brand strategies, and ensure timely delivery of collections and new products.

    Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist the Director of Product Development in developing strategic plans to penetrate existing accounts, coordinating closely with designers, Import Account Coordinators, and our China office on sample follow-up and preparation.
    • Complete product catalogs and sell sheets for each season within company deadlines.
    • Conduct market research to identify new categories and trends, comparing current and future markets to create trend guides.
    • Analyze supplier quotes to enhance market competitiveness in terms of quality and pricing.
    • Serve as a liaison between the Director of Product Development, Designers, Import Account Coordinators, and the sales team.
    • Negotiate costs with Import Account Coordinators and China office managers to optimize margins.
    • Utilize Photoshop and Illustrator for basic design tasks
    • Review product development sample quality, provide feedback, and collaborate with the China team or suppliers to refine products.
    • Assist in the development of product concepts and specifications. This could include creating product briefs, sketches, or prototypes to present ideas to the greater team
    • Support the product launch process by assisting with marketing materials, coordinating promotional activities, and preparing for product distribution.

    More about you:

    To qualify, you must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in product development or project management, ideally in the retailer or wholesale environment. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are also required for this role.

    The following skills and experience will be strong assets:

    • Bachelor's degree or diploma in business, engineering, art, design, or related field.
    • Knowledge of product development processes and methodologies is a plus.
    • Experience in consumer goods industry is desirable.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; familiarity with MidJourney AI software preferred.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and analyze supplier quotes.

    About the Benefits:

    Location and Additional Information:

    • Full time, permanent position
    • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. On occasion, must be able to contact our China office and/or factories outside of working hours.
    • You will work out of our Arlington based office located at 618 N Great Southwest Pkwy, Texas
    • You will be required to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
