- Create an atmosphere of comfort and safety for all patients. Ensure patients are informed throughout the hygiene treatment, with their questions answered.
- Observe and identify areas of interest for the exam and enter treatment plans discussed during the patient exam with the Doctor.
- Conduct initial oral screenings, including full periodontal charting, and oral health history review and update
- Assist in identifying conditions like gingivitis, or periodontitis and determine appropriate treatment for the condition
- Clean and help protect patients' teeth and gums. Proficiency with hand scaling and Cavitron
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Take digital X-rays, panorex X-rays, Cone Beam CT scans and Intraoral photos
- Use Intraoral camera
- Sterilization of dental instruments and operatory
- Maintain accurate, complete digital documentation and charts on each patient
