    All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department/site and Great Lakes Bay Health Centers.


    JOB SUMMARY

    The Assistant Clinical Services Director shares responsibility for the provision of medical care at GLBHC medical sites and the development of clinical services at new sites as delegated by and in collaboration with the VP of Clinical Services, Clinical Services Director and the Growth and Development Team .

    Supports GLBHC sites in providing a team-based approach to care in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates in activities related to Quality Improvement.


    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    20% 1. Supervises the Center Managers of all primary care sites.

    20% 2. Responsible for the implementation of new policies, protocols, and practice management guidelines at GLBHC clinical sites as directed by the VP of Clinical Services,
    Clinical Services Director, Safety Director, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director.

    5% 3. Responsible for the development of new sites and new clinical services in
    coordination with the VP of Clinical Services and Clinical Services Director.

    20% 4.

    Directly supervises assigned staff and actively participates in the hiring, required trainings or orientations, scheduling, program audits, quality improvement activities, and program requirements.

    10% 5. Supervises and schedules float staff assignments. Serves as a liaison with Community organizations including St. Vincent's and Wolverine Human Services.

    5% 6. Assists in the coordination of clinical activities and audit processes pertaining to accrediting and regulating bodies as deemed appropriate.

    10% 7.

    Assists to coordinate Center Manager Work Group and attends site/department meetings as necessary to provide training, input, introduction or review of clinical protocols, quality improvement activities, or safety activities.

    5% 8.Coordinates Lab Services and review of lab contracts.
    5% 9. Completes Career Development Reviews in a timely manner for any personnel directly responsible for.

    MARGINAL JOB DUTIES

    REQUIRED JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    Education:
    Degree in public health, nursing or health administration. Pertinent experience considered in lieu of degrees.

    Licensure:
    RN, if applicable.


    Experience:

    Three years' experience in clinical management required.

    Skills:
    Ability to organize various personnel to achieve desired results. Skilled in written and oral communication. Able to communicate clinical information eff ectively .

    • Interpersonal Ability to function productively without direct supervision

    Skills:
    Organized. Able to prioritize activities on a short and long term basis. Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population including physicians, clinical personnel and administrative personnel.

    Physical Effort:
    Medium

    Hours of Work:
    Full-time, Flexible and varied .

    Travel:
    Travel within GLBHC service areas, some out of area travel may be required. Reimbursement consistent with GLBHC policy.

    PREFERRED JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.


    Experience:

    Previous experience working with managed care and/or community health setting preferred.
